Wilderness Management Certificate

The Wilderness Management Distance Education Program offers accredited university courses through the University of Montana's Wilderness Institute for a comprehensive study of wilderness management. Graduate (G) and undergraduate (UG) college credit is awarded. Completion of all four courses is required for the wilderness management certificate. Online and correspondence sections are available for all courses:

Basics of Wilderness Stewardship Certificate

Designed for seasonal wilderness rangers and federal personnel working near wilderness or with an interest in wilderness stewardship, the Basics Certificate through the Eppley Center for Parks & Public Lands at Indiana University explores the history, philosophy, and application of wilderness law and policy in the United States. This self-paced course of study provides a comprehensive understanding of the basics of management in designated wilderness.
